While overall advocacy numbers have skyrocketed over the past several years, there is little evidence that advocacy is bringing voters and legislators in closer communication or led to better or more citizen involvement in decision-making.

As the advocacy industry grows and more causes invest in it, a better understanding of how advocacy and legislative decision-making are and are not aligned can lead to smarter advocacy investments and more effective advocacy at the federal level.

Shayna and Stefan Hankin of Lincoln Park Strategies will be previewing the advocacy research underway and leading a discussion of the implications for grassroots professionals.
